The people are nice courteous I'd recommend Hollis towing to anybody and it's clean
They deserve more than 5 stars with my breakdown 120 miles from home. I initially was told it would be 90 to 120mins before a truck would be available, but it was less than an hour when my truck was on the bed of the tow truck and headed home. Driver was awesome in every way and trip home was without incident. Thank you for a job extremely well done.
Hollis showed up about an hour after the scheduled pick up. The issue with my vehicle was a seized steering wheel while parked at a gas station. I was careful not to force the steering wheel after I noticed the issue. Upon arrival the driver got in my car immediately and with all of his strength forced the steering wheel before I had a chance to tell him not to do so. His job was to move my vehicle from one location to another. I didn’t call a mechanic or a troubleshooter. I called a towing company. Long story short - the wiring harness within the steering column that runs to all parts of the car were then shredded and ripped out beyond reasonable repair due to the amount of force he put on the steering wheel - $5,200 later - hollis is offering no help because the issue was “pre-existing”. Were the wires tangled before Hollis got there? Yes. Did they get in my car and make it worse by forcing the wheel and absolutely shredding any chance of a simple repair. Yes. It is the equivalent of taking a sledge hammer to a small dent in a car - and saying it was pre-existing. My honest assessment of this company is that they know how to tow a vehicle - just don’t let them inside.
Absolutely awesome service! I’m from the Columbus area and got a flat tire, lug nuts were stripped and I ended up having to stay in town. From the time I called all the way to getting towed the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. I had to use them twice, once in the evening and once the day after to move to a different mechanic. Each time they were fast, understanding and so friendly. I can’t say enough great things about Vern. He was timely, friendly and kept me in the loop on everything. He put my mind at ease, I wish I can remember the gentleman’s name who had helped us the night before. He was wonderful as well! Would definitely use them again, highly recommend!
Just had one of their drivers almost kill me with reckless driving. I was at the stop light at Hearthstone and Linden Ave across the street from Hasty Tasty Pancake House when the light turned green and I started into the intersection when at the last second I saw a big flat bed tow truck speeding at me and not slowing down for the red light. I slammed on my brakes and the truck missed my front end by less than a foot. They didn't even slow down and just kept going. That's when I saw the 'Hollis' logo on the back of the cab and noticed the color and that there was no car on the flatbed. They were doing probably 50mph in a 35mph zone. I pulled into the gas station and calmed down since I was shook up. This was approximately 9am on 9/1/2025 (this morning) and I tried calling their number repeatedly with no answer. They're supposed to be 24 hours, but it's a holiday. But NO VOICEMAIL EITHER. So they have a driver that: - speeds well over the speed limit in a residential area - runs red lights without even slowing - almost hits a car without slowing down or paying attention to their surroundings Followed by a phone system that's supposed to be 24 hours, but never gets answered AND never goes to voicemail If I'd had my dashcam on so I had the license plate, I'd have called the cops for reckless op.
